You need a way to maintain history for a customer sales with changing addresses. Assuming that you are NOT allowed to add fields (normally IT will allow adding fields as it has almost no side effects) then the only other way is to have a new customer number to track new addresses. Are you sure the system you are currently working with does not have some sort way to dealing with address changes? Ask the DBA if you can add a couple of fields to assist with address changes.
