Try r7041 that I just committed, which adds ReportBegin.ColumnBreakAfter property. I see that the ReportBegin (like the page headers/footers) are page-wide not column-wide so just make sure your content in the ReportBegin section is contained to the left hand side of the page. It should work with r7041 but let me know if not.
