The settings_override.py is simply the way you change Dabo's default
settings. Those defaults are in the settings.py file in your main 'dabo' module
directory. If your default for encoding script files is something other than
utf8, it makes sense to override that in your settings_override.py
As far as updates, I really need to spend the time to create a new Web
Update, which you should be able to run to update your system. I've added it to
my To Do list for today.
