I have completed the Pycon tutorial, a few of the screencasts and have peroused the Wiki. I have a conceptual question this time.
I have designed a form with a parent child relationship with the child records in a grid. The application will be a very basic timeclock. What I would like is for an employee to enter a username and password into two fields and after the password is completed, the record source of the form would be found and the child records with previous time entries populated. It is important that they cannot access or view other employees records. I have done this already in Ms Access and it was a case of setting the record source for both the parent and child records (sub form in the case of Access.) This uses an unbound form. I am unsure about the best approach for this. If I use the onLostFocus event on the password field, how do I look for a record to test whether it is a valid username and password combination and if it is valid, do I write the code to populate the form in the form itself or is there a way to call something from Bizobj?
