I was catching KeyDown but didn't know about evt.stop(). This will
certainly do it.

BTW, can you think of a way in which I could shift the F4 behaviour to
some other key? In linux hitting the spacebar will show the drop list in
a dropDownList control but in windows F4 will do that. I have been asked
to use F4 to do a browser lookup and set the dDropDownList control's
value to that, but that leaves me with no key to show the drop list.
