THE DAFYOMI DISCUSSION LIST brought to you by Kollel Iyun Hadaf of Yerushalayim Rosh Kollel: Rabbi Mordecai Kornfeld [EMAIL PROTECTED] [REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE TO DISCUSS THE DAF WITH THE KOLLEL] ________________________________________________________________ Makos 008b : Patricide Mark Bergman <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> asked: The Gemoro on 8b says "Makeh Nefesh, Prat LeMakeh Oviv", and excludes hitting a father since there is a Chiyuv Misah for that. If I am correct, the chiyuv Misah is only where there is a wound (chaburah), so couldn't the Gemoro suggest a case where the person killed his father without making a wound (e.g. suffocation) Mark Bergman ---------------------------------------------- The Kollel replies: Minchas Chinuch (48) writes that killing can be deduced from Chaburah, with the Sevarah of Mah Li Katlah Palgah Mah li Katlah Kulah.
