I'm smoking on FreeBSD 4.8-{RELEASE,STABLE}. configsmoke.pl says that -Duselongdouble and -Dusemorebits do not apply to my platform. Fair enough. As it is, the run with useithreads, useperlio and use64bitint took just over 2 hours.
I could let this machine smoke for up to 16 hours a day, so I was wondering whether it's worth testing other combinations, usemymalloc comes to mind. What would be the most useful combinations?
I also plan on smoking 5.6.2 and 5.10. When I ran configsmoke.pl to prepare for 5.6.x it suggested that I rsync from
ftp.linux.activestate.com::perl-5.8.x ^^^^^
Is this right? Or should I y/8/6/ in the above? Or fetch from somewhere else? Do European mirrors exist?
Thanks, David
