[Sorry if this ends up twice, I didn't see it after 24+ hours]

Some smokers have been testing the alpha snapshots and I feel it is now time
to release this RC1.

The uploaded file

    Test-Smoke-1.19-RC1.tar.gz

has entered CPAN as

  file: $CPAN/authors/id/A/AB/ABELTJE/develsnap/Test-Smoke-1.19-RC1.tar.gz
  size: 150674 bytes
   md5: 6e628b636d714dc245eae917d2e3c557

And will soon be on a CPAN near you.

From the ReleasNotes:
       Major changes since 1.18

1 I finally got around to rewriting mkovz.pl and replaced it with
Test::Smoke::Reporter and decided to use <mailrpt.pl> as the new
           front-end.

2 The new reports have better hardware/OS detection, with many
thanks to Merijn Brand (most osses), Campo Weijerman (AIX), Allen Smith
           (IRIX), Alan Burlison (Solaris).

The compiler info is now logged after each Configure, so this is
will be available in reports even though the last Configure
           failed.

3 After "many" requests, the old stuff (mktest.pl, mkovz.pl etc) is
now gone (although I had planned the 1.20)!

4 smokestatus.pl tries to give a better guesstimate for ETA. It also
has the new "--matrix" option to also show the smoke-matrix with
           the status report.

5 Some work has been done on the Win32 side. Most notably a start
has been made to try and support Win98. Also some work on the W32Con-
           figure.pl script.

6 The behaviour attached to the "cc" option for Test::Smoke::Mailer
has changed so that it will now only send "Cc:" on failure.

Good luck,

Abe

Perl "configure" is not GNU configure, Perl is not "other GNU program".
Do not confuse one of Perl's licenses with the GNU project itself.
