Blue chips close higher after upbeat data
Blue-chip stocks closed higher Tuesday, as investors digested a trio of economic 
reports - one on gross domestic product, the others on consumer sentiment and 
spending. The data provided investors additional evidence of an improving economy.

Spending, economy grow at healthy pace
The U.S. economy, propelled by tax cuts and low interest rates, roared ahead at an 8.2
