Stocks end mixed as oil issues move ahead
Wall Street gained momentum Thursday as strength in energy companies helped
offset a weak reading on Midwest manufacturing and a disappointing forecast by
Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

U.S. home-price rise slowed in 3rd quarter
Average U.S. home prices rose 7.73 percent over the 12 months to Sept. 30, but
the quarter-to-quarter gain was the lowest since 1998 and indicates a sharp
deceleration in house price gains, the U.S. Office of Federal Housing
Enterprise Oversight reported Thursday.
