A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

Has No One Condemned You?

Wouldn't it be a wonderful world if we could say yes to this question
from Jesus? Wouldn't it be even better if, when we were asked a
different question, we could respond to Jesus, "We have condemned no
one."

It is part of our human make-up. It is part of our fall. So as to feel good
about ourselves, we often must find fault with others. But Jesus holds up a
mirror to us and says, all have fallen short. All! This includes everyone
who has ever lived -- all the greatest saints (with the exception of the
Blessed Mother). Think of the most wonderful, most perfect saint you can
think of, and you will find that they regarded themselves as amongst the
greatest of sinners.

So use today's gospel to withhold judgment. If we could just decide for one
day not to judge, not to condemn needlessly, not to place our own motives on
the actions of others, our lives and the lives of others would be so much
better. We would begin to build the kingdom of God here on Earth.
