A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

Now it seems it will soon be over. The Easter Season is coming to an
end. Today we hear about the imprisonment of Paul in Rome and Jesus'
discussion about Peter's eventual death by crucifixion.

Lord, does this joyous season have to end like this? After the glory
and triumph of your resurrection does the Church's last words this
Easter season have to be about death and imprisonment?

Lord, if it weren't for your grace I might feel despondent. In fact,
even with your grace I am feeling a bit weary, but I will wait Lord.
I will wait like the apostles and the women in the Upper Room. I will
wait in constant prayer for the outpouring of your Holy Spirit. I
long to be filled. Come Sanctifier. Come O Comforter. Come Divine
Wisdom!

Come Holy Spirit, come and fill the hearts of your faithful and
enkindle in us the fire of your love. Alleluia! Alleluia!
