A Reflection on Today's Scripture:
I love the Book of Tobit. It is a wonderful story about how the Lord
answers the prayers of good people, even when, as in the case of
Tobit, they falter and fail to reflect the Light of the Holy Spirit.
It is encouraging that even when we stumble and fall God is willing
to go to extraordinary lengths to rescue us and answer our prayers.
One of the other really wonderful things about the Book of Tobit, is
the clear example of the presence of angels, our heaven-sent friends.
Could there be any more explicit evidence? "I am Raphael, one of the
seven angels who enter and serve before the Glory of the Lord."
Let us then heed the words of that heavenly creature and let us make
known the wondrous works of the Lord. Let us joyfully and
convincingly give witness to the Lord of Righteousness and the King
of the Ages who has shown us the power and might of His merciful
love.
