A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

The apostle St. Paul did a wonderful job teaching the community of
Thessalonians about Jesus Christ. His pledge of love to them shows us
how we should act in our relationship with our community (siblings,
relatives, friends and neighbors), love one another!

The Gospel passage challenges us to be prepared for the coming of the
Lord. To ignore this warning would be a foolish thing to do. We, who
follow in Christ's footsteps, going about our lives trying to live as
"goodguys" and not like the "wicked servant" have nothing to fear!
Living a life that is self-centered and pleasure-seeking would be
very unwise. The verse (Matthew 24:43) that warns us to keep watch
over everything that we have, otherwise a thief might come and steal
it, is an expression of love in itself. If the Lord was coming today
and we knew it, would we be well prepared? If we are watchful and
diligent in living our faith, availing ourselves of the sacraments of
Reconciliation and Holy Communion, we will be ready and need not fear
His Second Coming. Why? Jesus died on the cross for us because he
loved us so much.

When we step out in faith and humbly witness for Christ, we are
continuing to teach everyone we meet, doing His work as we go about
our daily work.

          Fill us with your kindness, O Lord;
that we might shout with joy and gladness
all our days. - Psalm 90:14
