A Reflection on Today's Scripture:
In today's scripture Jesus is calling us to use our talents. The
question we should have for ourselves is which servant am I? The
servants that brought their master great joy, were the ones who put
to use what ever they received freely and without fear.
Some of the things we do within the Church in the name of religion
may have purpose, but do they really bring forth the fruit that
should be there? Do we ignore our family to run to a bible study? Do
we ignore a troubled co-worked and go to church. If our hearts are
not moved by the Spirit to show compassion and charity, we may make
the mistake of disguising Jesus by our false sense of "religion."
Christ has given freely His gifts to all of us, and with the guiding
voice of the Holy Spirit we will know where God wants us to use them
for the building up of the kingdom here on earth. It is the simple
actions of a Christian's life that bring the most joy to the Master.
We must be trusted with small things before we are to be given larger
ones.
Spirit of Christ,
shine your light on paths I walk
