A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

We are chosen people. We all remember how it felt, as children, when
we were not chosen for a game. How did you feel when you were the
first one picked? Good, right? How did you feel when everyone else
was picked and you were left to be added on to the team that had the
odd person? Not too good.

Paul tells us how to go about our daily lives, by the words he
addressed to the Colossians. We do understand them but still we break
the bonds of love with our petty thoughts and jealousies. Would you
rather feel peaceful everyday or do you feel better when you are out
of control or angry?

In Luke's words we must be full of kindness and love, be merciful as
our Father is merciful. To love in this way we must put aside our
lower nature and open our heart to Divine Love. We must be humble and
seek to curb our sinful inclinations, to seek healing in the
Sacrament of Reconciliation.

          O God,
Let the words of Christ dwell in us.
               Amen!
