A Reflection from Holy Scripture . . .

In today's first reading, the Israelites complain against God and to
Moses asking why they were brought to the desert to die with no
proper food and water to sustain them. These chosen people of God
failed to trust in God's providence and plan for their journey.

Today, as God's chosen people, how often do we lose faith and
question God's faithfulness during times of trial in our lives? When
things do not go according to our own plan, we believe we have been
forgotten and rejected and begin to lose faith. But, so often in
Scripture we are told that God never changes. His faithfulness is
never changing, His plans for us are always good.

So today, let us renew our faith in the Lord. In time of trial, let
us trust in the Lord's plan for us. We are called to trust and not
reject God when trials come along. So let our trust in God be a
testimony of our love and faith in our loving Father.

     Blessed Mother of God,
help us to grow in trust and love,
that God our Father may be glorified
through the living of our daily lives.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
          Amen.
