A Reflection on Today's Scripture:
We're all affected by the Anthrax scare. Just to think of what we can
yet expect is most unsettling. Yet, the daily Word of God keeps our
fears in balance, and our confidence in God's love strong and alive.
Today's readings assure us that one Man made all the difference. Just
as in Adam all sinned, so in Christ, all were justified. And, the
amazing corollary of this truth is the immense power for good there
is in one individual who is baptized into the life of the Saviour.
The Holy Spirit - indeed, the Holy Trinity - resides in us, giving us
authority and mandate to reduce the power of evil through the power
of love. The question is: will I recognize this immense dignity
conferred on me, and act on it today according to my state in life?
God grant me the grace to do so!"
