Just spent a couple of fun hours. Started with Springnet.com. It is
the web site for Springhouse Publishing, which publishes nursing mags,
drug handbook, all kinds of books.
They had a link with the Merck Manual which we all used in ICU, the new
docs a lot.
Anyhoo, in the absence of ischemia, the number one cause of cardioetc.
is INFECTIONS - acute or chronic, bacteria, spirochetes, rickettsia,
viruses (including HIV), fungi, protozoa, helminthes. The list of
causes goes on into other diseases, metabolic disorders, drugs,
neoplasms, etc. You can look yourself. the site is
www.merck.com/pubs
The Merck Manual is online searchable. They also publish a Vets.
Manual. That is not online searcheable, they want you to buy it. Might
not be such a bad idea.
The human manual goes into etiology, treatment, tests, etc. of most
diseases.
So there to your vet>>>>I love it when I can prove I am right.
