The family has decided to put her down. After talking to Tammy some
more, it was clear that it was this task that they were trying to avoid
having to do (by turning her over to rescue), more than an issue of
taking her with them or not. She is not in good medical condition at
all, and sounds like this is something that perhaps they should've done
about 6 months ago. They will take her to the vet and be with her. I
give them credit, in the end, for doing the right thing. She will go to
the bridge with family by her side, instead of being moved to a strange
new place after 12 years.
