I just have to share some good news, only I will be vague. I have been working on rescuing a horse which due to the ways the laws work with this, one has to be ~very~ careful how it goes down. I have been glued to the house after making 40 phone calls on this, which is why I have been so chatty with you guys, trying to make the time pass more quickly waiting for some answers. Finally after 72 hours, I just received a phone call from a vet 5 hours away that is willing to make a visual and written statement for me for the sheriff!! She is truly a god sent angel for helping with the fate of this horse. I went into my well rehearsed begging and pleading mode when I got her call and she stopped me in the middle and said "yes, I can be there". This horse is a walking skeleton, nothing more than bones and hide, worse looking than some of the pictures of dead horses I've seen. If you really want a challenge, try saving a horse from abuse, it is almost, impossible to get it impounded. I meet with this vet tomorrow, and god willing we will be able to get her seized from this guy. If we succeed, you thankfully won't be hearing from me for a while, for I will be trying to find her a foster home on the WI side, waiting for her coggins so we can transport her to the IL side for rehabilitation.
