first meal 3 1/4 cup original food and 3/4 new
and so on. Otherwise they get the runs or worse......
It takes time but well worth it.>>

.........except....IMO and exp.......if you are switching to an Innova
type food........then it's best to just switch cold turkey and have a day
of the runs, and be done with it.

re: callouses
............I have never had this problem.....but if a full grown Dane
popped into my life and had them.....here's what i would do.
change food
bath
mix 1 tablespoon of Fastrack with just enough water to make a paste,
apply paste to elbows, wrap saran wrap around it, then tape or ace
bandage. Leave on for as long as dog will allow it....overnight is
enough tho. Sometimes when i use this slurry on myself....it has
a slight sting.....dog may not like that....so, even 15 min would do
some good. Unwrap, but don't wipe....let it stay on. I would do
     this twice a week.
Apply Carmicheal's Cuticle cream nightly ! Vermont Store sells it.....
1-802-362-8440 It does what Bag Balm does, but does it
     overnight.....really softens !
After a few days of that.....i would wrap a wet warm washcloth around
elbow to soften it....then use a pumice cream (Pretty Feet) to see if
any loose callous came off. If not, i wouldn't do that again.

Every callous is different....if it is hard rather than soft....you might
get
it to soften with one of the above methods.

My girls get very rough edges on each toe.... I dremel the roughness
off each time i do their nails...then i apply the Carmicheals MIRACLE
cream......reading the ingredients tells you nothing about WHY it works
so well......but it is a fabulous tool/product.
I never put the cream on the surface they walk on....just the edges, and
always just before bedtime....so it works all night
