And us dane people thought breeding harl's was a
pain in the neck!!

I am sure you have all heard about my horse rescue
attempt that ended quite sadly. I have since joined
a horse rescue list and I must say that these web
site are certainly an eye opener about the abuse that
goes on, and very graphically pictured on these sites.

I certainly was not the lone ranger in having viewed
this. These rescue people actually go to the killer auction
sites and try to make a difference and if only to save one
or two of thousands from even the abuse that happens
while waiting slaughter. I am forever changed.

What state is your friend in? May I suggest adopting
a horse from one of the rescues? If she is interested in
a horse of color, I ran across a few that were very pretty
and in need of a home.

I cannot even begin to tell you the expense involved
in running a shelter for horses.

I am in the process of buying an additional 16 acres
adjoining my new house property. It was in the stars
that I was involved in trying to help this horse.

We are going to set up a rescue program for this county
and house them here on my property. Something that
is obviously missing in this county.

The two existing buildings are perfect. And I might
add that one would make a perfect kennel! I will also
be offering my services for foster care for Danes too.
For I have found out my local humane shelter does
no have cages large enough to house a big breed dog.
