Hi Lola, this is Jewel!
>Since my mom prefered to go to a ridiculous Xmas party
>yesterday night,
Oh puh-lease, where are her priorities????
>But there's worse: today she left me alone for 12 hours!!! Yeah, 12!!!
You've got every right to complain, Lola; that's
downright doggy abuse! When are our people
going to learn that there IS no world outside of
us?
>Of course the crazy Internet addict she is insists on typing it all at
>the same time so I have to be patient. Again.
Aaaah, I take it your person is constantly
attached to the tappy-thing she calls a
keyboard and the screen with changing
pictures ... monitor, I think my person
calls that (usually with a few expletives,
since she's had to replace two).
>Oh, by the way, did Jewel like the stuff she got from us???
When my Mom came in the door carrying
the first box, I just about knocked it out of
her hands by snuffing it. Then Merlin, one
of the foster Danes, had to come over too.
I gave him a good rumble, but he had to
get his nose prints all over it ... Sheesh.
Mom opened the box, and out she pulled
a collar -- a new collar! Cooool! She took
off the chili pepper collar I'd gotten from SS
two years back (can you believe it, having
to wear the same outfit for TWO YEARS!!!)
and looped the snowmen around my neck.
I was quite pleased. Mom told me what a
pretty girl I was. I stuck my tongue out at
Merlin.
Then Mom pulled a crackle bird out of the
box ... I started to sniff it, being the cautious
lady I am, but Merlin ran up, grabbed it, and
ran off! He went into my crate -- MY crate! --
and wouldn't even let me see it. Hmph.
But, that wasn't it! Two MORE boxes arrived.
This time Mom pulled a large ball out of the
box. Yep, you're right, that Merlin took it right
out of Mom's hand and started dropping it so
it would bounce. Mom pulled a pink octopus
fleece toy out of the last box, and I made it
known that it was MINE -- I love those fleece
toys.
You wouldn't believe it, though ... a little while
later Mom let the new foster in. He's this Great
Dane/St. Bernard mix, and a lot bigger than me.
He saw the octopus on the kitchen floor where
I'd left it, and picked it up! I cried till Mom gave
it back to me.
Thank you so much, Lola and Julie. I've since
reclaimed the crate from Merlin, and have MY
new toys at the back so he and Bear can't grab
them again.
