   THE TRUE MEANING OF
      THE CANDY CANE

A candy maker wanted to illustrate
the birth, ministry, and death of
 Jesus Christ.
                .

He began with a stick of pure white
 candy. White symbolizes the sinless
nature of Jesus and His virgin birth.

The candy is the in the shape of a "J,"

for Jesus, who came to earth as our
 Savior. It also represents a

 shepherd's crook, for shepherds were
among the first to hear the good news
of the Savior's birth. The Savior called

 Himself the "Good Shepherd" who
gives His life for His sheep.

 The candymaker stained the cane

with red stripes representing the blood

shed by Christ on the cross so that we
could have the promise of eternal life.

As you eat your candy cane, you
might want to break it (as Christ's body
was broken for you) and share it with a
friend, thus sharing the sweetness of
the meaning of this Christmas treat.

 Wishing you God's true peace
 this Christmas season.
