I tried to build darcs 1.0.4pre4 from a tarball and failed. I'm using Mac OS
X. I have ghc 6.4
etc. installed, but none of the precompiled darcs binaries work for me, so I
don't have a
version of darcs yet.
The output of ./configure contains the lines
checking for darcs... no
checking the release state..... Can't exec "darcs": No such file or directory
at
determine_release_state.pl line 6.

This is annoying, but seems harmless. However, make complains
make: *** No rule to make target `_darcs/inventory', needed by
`ThisVersion.lhs'. Stop.
This is bad.
