Hi,

Edwin Thomson recently submitted a bug report (http://bugs.darcs.net/issue67) (Hi Edwin!). I fear the title of the bug may be misleadingly light. We (Business Web Software) have an issue that is giving us an apparently corrupt (and unusable) Darcs tree, and we aren't sure that it isn't already corrupt. We are worried about doing anything to the affected tree until the issue is traced, for fear of breaking things further.

I just thought I'd point it out as being a tree-corruption bug, in case that'll get it some more attention. We realise that the bug report isn't as small as it could be, because we didn't have time to work out how to excise irrelevant parts of the patch history, but we've tried to make it at least manageable.

For reference, we are slowly switching over to Darcs (from CVS) for all internal projects and very much appreciate Darcs for being the only version control product that treats patches as the separate entities that they are. So far, we have switched a 110,000-line product and a 60,000 line product and will be switching more, later. Also, we're working on a version of TortoiseCVS that supports Darcs; we're already using it internally and intend to release it (probably on SourceForge), in the new year. We'll gladly assist, wherever possible, in resolving this bug.

Any attention the bug could receive would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Grant Husbands.
