Ouch indeed :-) Shame that I didn't find this myself since I already
use my patch all the time.
I'll try to fix it over the weekend, with 80 characters a line...

resubmit this patch in a form that doesn't break Unix diff?
I've applied the external-merge patch, which is clearly the right
thing to do.
Oh, one thing: in the future, would you be so kind as to make sure to
wrap at 80 characters max? Thanks.
