I would think setting an arbitrary from would be the standard way of
sending mail nowadays. I mean, no one wants to be
[EMAIL PROTECTED] when they can be
[EMAIL PROTECTED] :)

also, it is quite nice to be able to set it to things like

[EMAIL PROTECTED] so responses get automatically filtered into the
right boxes.
