Please, do not. Specifically, autoconf 2.6x is known buggy for x = 0,1. Installs of autoconf 2.6x will cause build problems for other applications with 100% correct configure.in. It doesn't error, it simply produces an incorrect configure. AFAIK 2.59 is happy enough with datarootdir-correct configure.in, so there's no need to bump the require once you've fixed configure.in. > do [then again, I also think we can be more daring with the > unstable branch].
