I think it is possible that darcs-1.0.10 could get into Hardy as a "bug fix only update", and maybe just maybe darcs-2 (or darcs-2- prerelease, or something) might get in as a "new package", provided that it didn't provide an executable named "darcs" or otherwise conflict with the darcs package. I have no special expertise in Ubuntu packaging -- this is just my understanding of that wiki page. In any case, we'd better hurry up, as the likelihood of acceptance of new darcs's into Hardy is continuously receding...
