Nope. Glibc's nss implementation requires dynamic loading for nss to work, but DNS lookups work fine from apps statically linked against uClibc. I'm not sure what glibc does. The carpetcode darcs is statically linked, and it does DNS fine. But I take the rest of your point, if you're trying to use an OS emulator that does part of its work by having its own dynamically loaded libc --- as apparently the OP is --- then statically linking libc won't be good. -Bennett
