Neither darcs nor (more important, I expect) ghc explicitly requires
Mac OS X by version. However, the GHC Portfile is an unholy
contraption with off-the-wall version dependencies (eg, Mac OS X 10.2
requires _two_ versions of readline to be installed). It's hard to
believe the Jaguar parts are well-maintained.
I would expect that chances are pretty good that Jaguar users will run
into trouble with the builds even under DarwinPorts. A
staticly-linked version would be very useful for them.
