As for Eclipse 3.0.x version, I do not follow Eclipse development as
tightly as Leif but I think we are using new API for (i.e.) Message
Boundling (I may be wrong but proposal for that API is from February
2005 so...) .
Right, I forgot that one. Unfortunately, this breaks 3.0.x compatibility
indeed, and it is really too much work to try to keep a version that
would run on both Eclipse versions. So I'm afraid that is a killer for that.
About the download size: you may consider using only the Platform
Runtime binary from the Eclipse download site. It should contain
everything CDT needs (and probably also everything phpEclipse needs, but
I'm not sure about that), but it hasn't the sources and the Java and PDE
tools, so it is less than 30MB instead of the 100MB of the Eclipse SDK
download.
