"record" time is reasonable, it sounded like you'd wish to track file
times or such, which is not a "good time" to use if I need to split two
changes I made to record them separately (although I must say that
darcs's interactive record operation makes it easy to avoid such
operations that are needed on SCMs that operate only with file granularity).
