The easiest way is to make a temporary branch of the repo with Get or Put. If the version you want is tagged you can use the --tag option to get that particular version. Otherwise you'll have to Unpull/Obliterate some patches in the temp branch until the file is of the right configuration. Then simply copy it and remove the temporary repo.
There are also other tricks.
