Yes. Probably (especially now with posthook). I also figured things
like whatsnew, changes (--last=), manifest would be useful things to
query over IM. I think intersect (allowing you to pull the intersection
of multiple repositories) would be a vital tool in a distributed project
(and may be the better to set up auto-pulls to do instead of
auto-pulling -a as you mentioned several posts up).
Because Jabber is a good protocol for "both" major sets of information
exchange (plain text for "people" and XML for "bots"), I also saw it as
probably the preferred protocol for my also planned but not much
actually coded repository manager GUI.
