My Eclipse editor creates some lock files which darcs chokes on when
doing a whatsnew -l.
[I've shortened the paths]
C:\>darcs wha -l
darcs: C:/.metadata/.lock: openBinaryFile: permission denied (Permission
denied)
And it exits without completing the command. Now I've worked around
this by adding the .metadata to the boring files (which I needed to do
anyway) but I propose that darcs not bail when it can't open the file
but rather say so in the file list and continue on.
