domains only protect you from creating patches that cross domain
boundries (and even that can be overridden if you really know what you
are doing). you can still tag across your whole repo.

of course, you couldn't pull the tag for all of jhc into the individual
doc or boolean repos, since it depends on files not in them, but
that is probably not what you want anyway since you doc subproject
doesn't need to know about jhc versions, but jhc would want a specific
version of doc for a given release.
