Using dashes would require more renames. I agree with Albert
although I think renames are ok when the major version number
changes.

And the good thing is that it doesn't matter most of the time anyway,
due to the unique-abbreviation feature. Anyway, in general I am
opposed to arbitrary renaming: either you break backward compatibility
with scripts and old documentation, or you are forced to maintain
scores of synonyms that are likely to be confusing to the beginner.
