Do you have any large files sitting in the directory? Darcs may be
looking at them even though they are not in the repository and trying

contents). Although, I thought this was only an issue with recording.
So at this point just consider it something to check for.
One of the client
machines is running Mac OS X Tiger intel. The master is on Mac OS X
Tiger Server, PPC. Both are version 1.0.5.
I don't remember anything wrong with 1.0.5, but it's generally a good
idea to upgrade (1.0.8 is current). Might help, but probably won't
change anything specific to your issue.

Wish I could help more. Perhaps you can make a copy of the repo that
exhibits this behavior public so that the darcs devs have a test case?
