It used to be enough to set DARCS_SLOPPY_LOCKS=1 in order to use darcs
over sshfs. That doesn't seem to be the case any longer. I'm now using
version 1.0.9rc1 and I'm getting the following error during a 'put':
darcs failed: Error applying patch to recorded!
Running 'darcs repair' on the target repository may help.

I have submitted there a bug (look at the three last comments at the
end of report) about gedit not being able to save to sshfs. The
problem was the same - rename failed. I have never explored the
solution but it is suggested in last comment.
