I tried this - as far as the PuTTY apps are concerned, it
works great! Yay!

(I had a little trouble at the beginning, until I
remembered to unset the SSH_PORT environment
variable that I had been using.)

OK, I am changing my bug report to a bug in the
documentation (except for the part about WebDAV,
which is a feature request anyway).

The extremely helpful information in Pekka's short email
needs to be added to the WindowsConfiguration
page on the wiki. Shall I give it a whirl?

In addition, I think this is important enough for
to be mentioned (for all platforms) in the manual,
where it says:

Getting started...
Getting changes made to another repository...
Get, pull and push also work over ssh. Ssh-paths
are of the same form accepted by scp, namely
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/path/to/repository.

I would add something like

You can also use:

session_name:/path/to/repository

where "session_name" is a "Saved Session"
defined in PuTTY on Windows, or a virtual
host name defined in ssh_config on other
platforms. This is the preferred way to customize
SSH settings, such as the port number, for
Darcs.

Thanks,
Yitz
