And in fact, it was also available in ghc 6.4 (which we still support) http://www.haskell.org/ghc/docs/6.4-latest/html/libraries/index.html Shall I wait for a patch using getTemporaryDirectory? We could also replace our call to mkstemp with openBinaryTempFile. That would allow us to eliminate some code from Darcs.Compat, which would certainly be handy.
