Brian Warner (author of Buildbot) mentioned to me that when the user who runs the buildbot process logs out of Mac OS X, the process keeps running, but it loses the ability to do DNS queries!
That explains failures I've been seeing on Mac OS X bots, that look like this: http://buildbot.darcs.net/builders/jules%20apollo%20Darwin-9.2.2%20Mac %20OS-10.5.3%20i386/builds/1/steps/darcs/logs/stdio (That darcs checkout ends with "darcs failed: Not a repository: http://darcs.net (Failed to download URL http://darcs.net/_darcs/ inventory: couldn't resolve host name)".) Here is a web page on the buildbot wiki that explains how to set up your Mac OS X buildbot so that it can continue to use DNS while logged out: http://buildbot.net/trac/wiki/UsingLaunchd Regards, Zooko _______________________________________________ darcs-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.osuosl.org/mailman/listinfo/darcs-users
