Here's a how-to for thunderbird users: 1. before replying, copy the patch text. The patch attachment is displayed inline so you can just select it. You probably don't need the trailing Context section.
2. click reply 3. Edit -> Paste As Quotation (thanks tb devs) Now you can interleave your comments.
