Hey Zooko, thanks for the report. Just out of curiosity, does he know about context files? If so does he not find them sufficient? I still think that right now the best documentation on context files is my own blog post: http://blog.worldmaker.net/2008/mar/27/darcs-and-useful-context-file/ But since I've been contributing darcs patches for documentation, I should probably add this to my list of things to figure out how to better. Basically, for the make version step he wants you simply perform some variation on: darcs changes --context > this_version.context This is pretty fast in my experience (possibly the fastest changes flag). Given a copy of that file you can simply: darcs get --context this_version.context http://remote.example.org/repo/ It's not "copy the short garbage-looking number into an IM window", it's "send me your version.context file", but it works (and it's what darcs itself builds into --exact-version, hence the reason bug reports ask for --exact-version). -- --Max Battcher-- http://www.worldmaker.net/ _______________________________________________ darcs-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.osuosl.org/mailman/listinfo/darcs-users
