I see. For some reason, I was under the impression that our patch bundle reading code used Parsec (but if it did, you certainly would have been a lot more conservative about parsec versions!). The only potential concern is that OldDate uses parsec (which unless we audit the code to make sure the parsec-y bits aren't used for patchinfo probably means we should proceed cautiously).
