I've just rebooted (about 2 hours ago). Maybe something was amiss before? My reason to suspect this reboot to have done something is that I'm doing development in a VMware image (Ubuntu Hardy) on my mac box too. I saw very strange errors in that image before the reboot. After the reboot it behaved as it should. So maybe this comes down to a darwin bug?
