compiling HashedIO.hs.

Are you saying that *with* rubber, the documentation builds
successfully? If that's the case, does this cause it to fail?

rubber --inplace --pdf darcs
rubber --inplace --ps darcs
The only thing I can think of that might be fixed by rubber is building
in a temp dir, rather than in the working dir. Using --inplace disables
that feature.
(The main reason we check for rubber is to reduce the amount of useless
latex output in build logs. It also means the PDF and PostScript can be
built concurrently, due to it not building in-place.)
